Zusammenfassung

Empa in Switzerland seeks a highly motivated researcher to join the NCCR-Network on Separations, focusing on shaped CO2 adsorbents and sorbent ageing. The project collaborates with EPFL, ETH Zurich and partners to develop scalable, energy-efficient separation technologies and metal recovery.

You will develop independent ideas, test them experimentally and computationally, and contribute to the team’s scientific output while coordinating activities within the network.

Qualifikationen

  • PhD or equivalent research experience in porous materials, surface or adsorption/separation science.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Independent, collaborative researcher comfortable in an international environment.

Aufgaben

  • Coordinate project activities and foster synergies within the team and with partners.
  • Supervise intern students contributing to the project.
  • Elucidate ageing mechanisms of solid sorbents under different ageing conditions.
  • Develop accelerated/high-throughput sorbent ageing protocols.
  • Define mitigation strategies for sorbent ageing.
  • Develop versatile, upscalable shaping/coating procedures for sorbents.
  • Contribute to new research lines and publish results.
