Lacus Partners AG in Zug, Switzerland seeks a senior Portfolio Manager (MD-level) to lead investment management under a FinIA framework. You will own discretionary investment decisions for AMCs within approved risk limits, and report on performance and strategy to clients.
The role emphasizes independent work in a boutique setting, collaboration with research and advisory colleagues, and a strong focus on regulatory compliance and high-quality client service.
Lacus Partners AG is an independent Swiss financial advisory boutique registered in the Canton of Zug.
The firm focuses on providing personalized financial and investment advisory services in a discreet, client-centered environment. Lacus Partners AG is currently in the formal authorisation process with FINMA to operate as a portfolio manager (Vermögensverwalter) under Art. 17 of the Swiss Financial Institutions Act (FinIA); no activity requiring authorisation will be commenced before authorisation is obtained. Candidates joining Lacus Partners AG can expect a professional setting with a focus on high-quality service, regulatory rigor, and long-term client relationships.
The Portfolio Manager is a full-time (100%), on-site role based in Zug, Switzerland. This is a senior, MD-level position: the successful candidate will act as the firm's primary qualified manager and daily owner of investment management for the purposes of the FinIA Art. 17 authorisation. The candidate's CV, track record, references and professional qualifications will form part of the firm's FINMA authorisation evidence, and the role carries direct responsibility for investment decision-making conducted from Switzerland.
In the firm's operating model, discretionary management is performed exclusively on the underlying portfolios of actively managed certificates (AMCs) under a limited investment-management mandate from the issuer — without custody, cash-withdrawal or unrestricted transfer authority. Client-level relationships are served through non-discretionary investment advice. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting market and security analysis, asset allocation and security selection within approved strategy and risk limits, rebalancing, and executing trades with approved execution agents in line with the firm's investment guidelines and best-execution standards. The Portfolio Manager prepares portfolio reviews and reports, oversees shadow valuation and NAV reconciliation against the appointed calculation agent, supports clear client communication on performance and strategy, and collaborates closely with colleagues across research and advisory functions to continuously improve investment processes and risk management practices.
