Zusammenfassung

Optiml is seeking a Software Engineer (Infra Focus) to own the infrastructure backbone of our platform, operating at the intersection of backend engineering and cloud infrastructure, where your decisions shape how the product is built and shipped.

This is a hands-on role managing Optiml's GCP infrastructure, driving CI/CD and release processes end-to-end, and contributing to the codebase in Python and TypeScript. You will collaborate across teams to improve reliability and observability.

Qualifikationen

• BSc/MSc in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of infrastructure or platform engineering experience.
• Strong GCP experience (compute, storage, networking, IAM, containers).
• Solid container experience (Docker or similar).
• Production databases (MongoDB, Redis) performance & reliability.
• CI/CD pipelines experience (GitHub Actions).
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Swiss or EU citizenship.

Aufgaben

• Set infrastructure direction: identify high-leverage problems and drive resolution.
• Collaborate on features touching core infra (Python + TS) such as RBAC and Job Queues.
• Own and operate Optiml's GCP infrastructure (Cloud Run, IAM, TLS, networking, firewall).
• Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows.
• Own end-to-end release processes: staging, E2E tests, production deploys, rollbacks.
• Run on-call and incident response; manage rotations and uptime.
• Partner with IT/Security on vulnerability scanning and hardening.
• Close documentation gaps; improve observability and monitoring.
