University of Basel invites applications for a PhD position in Psychology of Sustainability and Behavior Change. The project sits within the Sustainability and Behavior Change research group, combining behavioural science methods to promote pro-environmental behaviours.

The PhD candidate will design experiments, conduct laboratory and online studies, and apply principles to field interventions across domains such as food choice and transportation.

Qualifikationen

• Very good master's degree in Psychology or closely-related discipline.
• Interest in pro-environmental behaviour and behaviour change.
• Excellent knowledge of research methods and statistics.
• Experience running laboratory studies or field experiments is a plus.
• Able to analyse datasets using statistical software.
• Experience designing computerised behavioural tasks is desirable.
• Proficient in English and German.
• Organised, proactive, and able to work independently and reliably.
• Enjoy working collaboratively in a research team.

Aufgaben

• Design new or modify existing behavioural tasks for the study of pro-environmental behaviour
• Conceptualise, design, conduct, and analyse laboratory and online experiments on the determinants and consequences of pro-environmental behaviour
• Conceptualise, design, conduct, and analyse field experiments testing interventions for promoting pro-environmental behaviour change
• Disseminate research findings through peer‑reviewed publications and conference presentations
• Contribute to teaching activities (e.g. seminars, examinations)
• Supervise student researchers (e.g. bachelor's and master's theses)
• Contribute to organisational tasks within the research group
