ETH Zurich invites applications for a doctoral position exploring cognitive and moral heuristics in lay people’s reactions to climate change adaptation. The project seeks to understand how mental shortcuts shape risk perception and moral judgments regarding adaptive technologies and policies.

You will design and conduct empirical studies, publish in journals, present at conferences, and supervise students. The role starts January 2027 and requires Master’s in psychology or related fields, plus

Qualifikationen

• Master’s degree in psychology, environmental science or social sciences.
• Knowledge and first experiences with descriptive and inferential statistics.
• Advanced German and English skills.
• Ability to think conceptually and work independently.
• Strong interest in research and methodologies from psychology and social sciences.

Aufgaben

• Conceptualization and conduction of empirical studies (quantitative or qualitative designs are possible).
• Writing manuscripts and publishing studies in scientific journals.
• Dissemination of research results (e.g., at conferences).
