Zusammenfassung

ETH Zurich's Laboratory for High Power Electronic Systems seeks a PhD candidate to develop multi-physics models of planar inductors and transformers. You will optimize core and winding geometry, investigate cooling concepts, and integrate models into efficient power-electronic system workflows.

The role offers a full-time PhD path in a dynamic, international team with opportunities to present at conferences and access outstanding lab facilities and benefits.

Qualifikationen

  • Diploma or MSc in electrical engineering with excellent grades.
  • Fundamental knowledge of power electronic converter systems.
  • Good communication skills and fluency in English.
  • Willingness to join an international team and contribute to modelling work.

Aufgaben

  • Develop multi-physics models of planar magnetics (inductors/transformers).
  • Integrate models into optimisation procedures for power electronic systems.
  • Design and build prototypes to verify cooling and winding concepts.
  • Collaborate with other PhD candidates within an ongoing modelling framework.
