Zusammenfassung

ETH Zurich's Sensing, Interaction & Perception Lab invites applications for a fully funded PhD position at the intersection of robotics, wearable sensing, signal processing, machine learning, and human–computer interaction.

The project focuses on neuromotor interfaces for dexterous robot teleoperation using sEMG and egocentric vision, aiming for robust multimodal learning and real-time inference in interactive settings.

Qualifikationen

  • Strong foundation in machine learning, including classification and regression, model evaluation, representation learning, and generalization.
  • Solid understanding of signals and time-series data, sampling, frequency, phase, noise, spectral representations, filtering.

Aufgaben

  • Develop signal-processing and machine-learning methods for multichannel EMG decoding.
  • Develop egocentric computer-vision methods for understanding hands, objects, interactions, and task state.
  • Develop multimodal learning to combine EMG with egocentric vision to infer motor intent and interaction context.
  • Investigate reasoning over objects, actions, sequences, and task state to resolve ambiguous motor signals.
  • Apply methods to dexterous robot teleoperation, mapping human motor intent to robot manipulators.
