Zusammenfassung

Enova Consulting Sàrl in Lausanne, Switzerland, is seeking a Payload Systems Engineer (M/F) to join an R&D team specializing in satellite communications. You will lead mission analysis, design interfaces, and contribute to system-level decisions across the full lifecycle of space systems.

The role requires 8–10 years in space/SatCom, strong know‑how in payload architectures for various orbits, and hands-on HW/SW integration for space applications.

Qualifikationen

• MS or PhD in Engineering with space focus.
• 8–10 years of proven experience in the space / satcom industry.
• Strong experience in SatCom and payload architectures for LEO / MEO / GEO / HEO.
• Experience in HW/SW design, development and integration for space applications.
• Experience in digital design for space communications and digital regenerative payloads.
• Knowledge of inter-satellite links and digital phased array antennas.
• Experience with space qualification of complex systems.
• Knowledge of orbital analysis tools, TT&C platforms and STK.
• Experience with operations: satellite TT&C operations, payload operations, users and network management facilities.
• Swiss or EU citizenship, or a valid Swiss work permit.

Aufgaben

• Lead the mission analysis for space system requirements and their downflow to lower tiers.
• Define interfaces (digital, electrical, RF, optical, mechanical/thermal).
• Contribute to reliability analysis, simulations and design choices with the team.
• Work on communication chains, transponders, power management and distribution units.
• Contribute to on-board processing units for digital regenerative applications and beam forming.
• Review subsystem design and take part in co-design activities.
• Drive and facilitate technical discussions with subcontractors and partners as needed.
• Act as the Subject Matter Expert and challenge external contractors on technical matters.
• Contribute to the critical assessment of third-party solutions.
• Support space qualification activities, including advising on bus selection and components.
• Support test procedures and take part in the integration and test campaigns.
• Participate in launch and in-orbit commissioning activities.
• Assist with program management and B&P, including interfacing with customers on programmatic and schedule matters.
• Prepare presentations and reports throughout the development (design reviews, test activities, manufacturing, qualifications, progress reviews, etc.).
