About the Job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Palace, Luzern, within the pastry department, the Pastry Trainee supports the pastry team and creates dishes that will delight our guests.

Responsibilities

• Preparation and creation of high‑quality desserts and pastry products.
• Assistance with the preparation and follow‑up of events.
• Support the kitchen team and ensure smooth workflow during shifts.
• Compliance with all guidelines and proper storage of all food.
• Adherence to hygiene regulations and cleanliness within the framework of HACCP guidelines.

Qualifications

• Passion for pastry; initial experience in the hotel/gastronomy industry is an advantage.
• Flexibility and ability to work under pressure – the role includes weekend and holiday shifts.
• Teamwork, reliability and creativity.
• Very good knowledge of English; additional foreign languages are an advantage.
