Sonexos SA in Lausanne, Switzerland, seeks an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineering Consultant – Product Industrialisation to guide DFM and scale the Plasmapanel platform from mature concepts toward repeatable production.

The role focuses on design-for-manufacture, design review, and collaboration with internal engineers and suppliers; it is a part-time consulting position with strong on-site presence in Lausanne and close coordination with the Engineering Director and COO.

Qualifikationen

• Demonstrated expertise in design-for-manufacture and industrialisation for electromechanical products.
• Strong background in mechanical design, materials, tolerancing, and product development.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD and engineering drawing tools; SolidWorks preferred.

Aufgaben

• Provide expert DFM input across Plasmapanel and components, reviewing designs and tolerances.
• Advise on optimization of component and assembly design for selected manufacturing processes.
• Advise on material selection and mechanical specifications to ensure dimensional control and reliability.
• Review and approve mechanical drawings, establish acceptance criteria, and ensure maturity before production release.
• Act as senior technical expert with component manufacturers and tooling suppliers, challenging assumptions and supporting supplier reviews.
• Support engineering builds, pilot runs, and production trials, and assist with root-cause investigations and FMEA activities.
• Mentor internal engineers and transfer industrialisation know-how through structured design reviews.
