Nestlé Research is seeking an enthusiastic Packaging Materials Intern to explore how an oxygen-scavenging coating can enhance packaging materials over time. You will collaborate with packaging scientists, material specialists and lab experts while gaining hands-on experience and mentorship to launch your career.

The role emphasizes research in packaging materials, coatings, and oxygen barrier performance, with a focus on analytical data and model development.

Qualifikationen

• Current student or fresh graduate in material science or a relevant field.
• Ability to work in a laboratory with safety-conscious approach.
• Experience with analytical techniques is a plus (fluorescence oxygen sensing, thermal analysis, IR spectroscopy or OTR testing).

• Confirm oxygen-scavenging action of a coating used in packaging materials.
• Generate lab data on how temperature and humidity influence the scavenging rate.
• Evaluate the scavenging capacity to support reliable packaging performance over time.
• Build a model to simulate evolution of oxygen transmission through coated packaging materials.
• Identify scavenging mechanisms using analytical techniques such as fluorescence sensing, thermal analysis, IR spectroscopy, or OTR testing.

• Bringing fluency in English; French is an asset.
