Jobbeschreibung

ANAVIA is a Swiss aerospace company and global market leader in the development and manufacture of advanced unmanned vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft systems with a maximum take-off weight of up to 1,150 kg. Our dual-use helicopter platforms and sensors support a wide range of missions, including intelligence and surveillance (ISR), infrastructure inspection, cargo, and other critical operations.

As ANAVIA continues its rapid growth, we are seeking a Mission & Performance Analysis Engineer who is eager to contribute to the future of unmanned aviation.

Join us as a Mission & Performance Analysis Engineer and play a key role in evaluating the performance, efficiency, and operational capabilities of our UAV systems. In this role, you will simulate and analyze mission scenarios, assess aircraft flight dynamics and mass properties, and support the development of mission planning and flight analysis tools. Working closely with Flight Controls, Systems Engineering, Flight Test, and Software teams, you will provide critical performance data and insights that contribute to aircraft optimization, mission success, and the continuous advancement of our autonomous aviation technologies.

Your mission
  • Simulate and evaluate mission scenarios using flight mechanics and performance models.
  • Assess aircraft performance, efficiency, and operational limits across the flight envelope.
  • Analyse flight test and simulation data to evaluate aircraft behavior, energy consumption, and mission KPIs
  • Support the development of mission planning tools and flight envelope visualization
  • Interpret results from flight dynamics models (e.g., FlightLab, MATLAB) to extract actionable insights
  • Track and manage aircraft mass properties using a structured weight breakdown, including weight maturity (Estimated / Calculated / Actual) and center of gravity calculations.
  • Identify and provide relevant performance and dynamics data to support FCS and autopilot functions, including:
  • Performance limits and operational boundaries.
  • Mass properties and aircraft configurations.
  • Aerodynamic and stability-related characteristics.
  • Ensure consistency between flight physics models, mission analysis, and control system needs.
  • Support simulation-in-the-loop (SIL) and integrated validation activities.
  • Contribute to trajectory optimization and contingency scenario definition.
  • Document assumptions, analyses, and recommendations for system and mission improvements.
Your profile
  • MSc in Aerospace Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of flight mechanics and aircraft performance.
  • Experience with flight simulation and analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, FlightLab, XPlane or similar).
  • Solid skills in data analysis and scripting (e.g., MATLAB, Python).
  • Ability to interpret and work with simulation models and engineering data.
  • Understanding of flight control system principles and data needs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in English. German desirable.

Join a dynamic and international team at ANAVIA and help shape the future of unmanned aviation.

Be part of something extraordinary — your journey with ANAVIA starts here.

Please note that this position is open only to candidates who hold a valid Swiss work permit, EU nationality, or Swiss citizenship.
