CERN is seeking a Mechanical Technician to join a multidisciplinary team developing superconducting radiofrequency cavities for future accelerators. You will design mechanical components, assemble and test coating systems, and help manufacture parts using CNC methods.

Qualifikationen

• Experience in conventional CNC machining, milling and turning.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD and interpreting technical drawings.
• Experience with assembly/testing of ultra-high vacuum systems is a plus.

Aufgaben

• Design mechanical components and coatings equipment using 3D CAD and produce drawings.
• Assemble, install, test, commission and operate coating systems and equipment.
• Machining of metallic/ceramic parts using CNC techniques.
• Document processes and record operating parameters.
• Procure mechanical components for thin-film coating systems.
• Diagnose faults and perform maintenance on coating systems.
