Zusammenfassung

CERN seeks a Mechanical Technical Engineer to support the vacuum equipment upgrade for the LHC. You will work onsite with the VSC group, help install, test and commission critical components, and gain specialist skills in a unique international environment.

The role offers 40-hour weeks, full-time onsite work, and comprehensive training. A Bachelor's or Master's degree is required; previous CERN fellowships are not eligible. English or French proficiency is expected.

Qualifikationen

• Two years of professional experience by the application deadline.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree required; PhD not eligible.
• On-site work in Radiation Areas and the LHC environment.
• Fluent in English or French with willingness to learn the other language.

Aufgaben

• Perform vacuum acceptance testing of baked components for HL-LHC upgrade.
• Test and validate vacuum equipment and perform RGA analysis.
• Carry out leak tests, bake-out, and NEG activation on vacuum components.
• Assemble vacuum systems for installation and operation.
• Support installation, testing, and commissioning for the LHC upgrade.
• Prepare technical documents, test reports, and intervention records.
• Coordinate with suppliers and support procurement of components.
• Participate in maintenance and upgrades in the LHC tunnel.
