Zusammenfassung

CERN seeks a Mechanical Engineer to contribute to the development, assembly, testing and installation of the High Granularity Calorimeter (HGCAL) for the CMS experiment. You will oversee surface assembly, cooling, cabling and services, working with a multinational team of engineers and technicians.

Lead in structural and thermal calculations, 3D CAD modeling (Catia V5) and integration of electromagnetic and hadronic cassettes, while coordinating testing on the surface and below ground.

Qualifikationen

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in planning, coordinating and testing large mechanical structures.
• Strong background in thermal and structural analyses and CAD modelling.

• Coordinate technicians in assembling and testing large steel structures.
• Perform thermal and structural calculations using FEA.
• Develop mechanical assemblies with 3D CAD and 2D drawings.
• Integrate detector components and support large-scale surface testing.
