Randstad Switzerland is seeking a design engineer (m/f/d) to shape the next generation of high-precision measuring instruments. You will move prototypes from CAD sketches to test benches, enabling serial production with strict quality standards.

The role demands an apprenticeship in design engineering, strong CAD skills ( Creo ), and experience in industrial environments. Fluent German and professional English are essential for collaboration.

Qualifikationen

• Apprenticeship as a Design Engineer (EFZ) or comparable technical training.
• Further education such as HF/FH is advantageous.
• Several years of experience in technical product design.
• Fluent German and business English for interdisciplinary collaboration.

Aufgaben

• Design and development of complex measuring instruments and mechanical assemblies using 3D CAD.
• Plan, coordinate, and assemble prototypes with internal workshops and testing labs.
• Define, execute, and analyze stress and qualification tests throughout development.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, drawings, and BOMs in PLM/ERP systems.

Your mission

In this key role, you will help shape the next generation of high-end measuring instruments. Coriolis sensors operate at the micrometer scale under extreme industrial conditions (pressure, temperature, vibration). Your designs ensure that global industrial facilities—ranging from pharmaceutical production to food technology—operate with absolute precision and safety. Your impact: You will successfully take prototypes from the initial CAD sketch to the test bench, paving the way for serial production.

Your responsibilities

• Precision Design: Design and further development of complex measuring instruments and mechanical assemblies using 3D CAD, while adhering to the strictest international industrial standards.
• Prototype Evolution: Planning, coordination, and hands‑on assembly of prototypes in close collaboration with internal workshops and testing laboratories.
• Validation & Testing: Definition, execution, and metrological analysis of stress and qualification tests throughout the development process.
• Data Ownership: Creation, structuring, and maintenance of technical documentation, manufacturing drawings, and complex bills of materials (BOMs) within PLM/ERP systems.

Your Profile

• Solid Foundation: Completed apprenticeship as a Design Engineer (EFZ) or comparable technical training, complemented by relevant further education (e.g., HF/FH).
• Tech Stack: Proven practical experience with modern CAD systems—ideally Creo Parametric—and familiarity with ERP and PLM structures.
• Industry Expertise: Several years of experience in technical product design, preferably in an industrial setting, precision engineering, or equipment manufacturing.
• Language Skills: Fluent German (project language) and strong, business-proficient English skills for interdisciplinary collaboration.
