Job summary

Comet Group in Switzerland invites a Mechanical Design Engineer (80-100%) to join the Plasma Control Technologies division at Flamattsite. You will design mechanical components for vacuum capacitors and RF generators, and perform tolerance analyses and FEM simulations to optimize performance.

Requirements include a degree in mechanical engineering, excellent SolidWorks CAD skills, and knowledge of PLM systems.

Qualifications

• Degree in mechanical engineering from a university or university of applied sciences.
• Excellent CAD skills, particularly SolidWorks, and experience with PLM systems.
• Knowledge of joining technology, brazing, high-voltage or vacuum tech is a plus.
• Fluent in German and English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Develop and design mechanical components for vacuum capacitors and RF generators, including tolerances.
• Create and evaluate tolerance stack-up analyses for precise alignment and reliable performance.
• Perform thermal and structural FEM simulations to optimize the mechanical design.

In the Plasma Control Technologies (PCT) division, we manufacture specialized components that are required for the precise control of plasma processes and are used in the production of memory chips or touch screens for sensors, smartphones or tablets.

What you will do:

• Develop and design mechanical components for vacuum capacitors and RF generators, including the definition and specification of the required tolerances
• Create and evaluate tolerance stack-up analyses to ensure precise alignment and reliable performance
• Perform thermal and structural FEM simulations to validate and optimize the mechanical design

What you bring:

• Degree in mechanical engineering from a university or university of applied sciences, or qualification as a design engineer with further education to HF technician level
• Excellent CAD skills, particularly in SolidWorks, and experience working with PLM systems
• Knowledge of one or more of the following technologies is an advantage: joining technology, particularly brazing, high-voltage technology, and vacuum technology
• Excellent written and spoken German and English
