GXP CONSULTING Switzerland is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer who will own the CAD backbone of medical devices, managing 3D models and drawings in SolidWorks and maintaining documentation for new development and existing products. You will drive manufacturability through tolerance analyses, support electromechanical design, and collaborate with the Design team across sustaining work.

A degree in mechanical design or mechatronics and 5+ years in a regulated medical device setting are

• 5+ years designing products in a regulated industry (medical devices).
• Advanced SolidWorks skills and extensive experience producing detailed manufacturing drawings.
• Strong command of GD&T / GPS and dimensional tolerancing.
• Working knowledge of Windchill or a similar PDM system.

Aufgaben

• Own the design data: create and maintain 3D models, drawings (parts, assemblies, cables, packaging, labels) and associated product documentation in SolidWorks.
• Make designs manufacturable: run dimensional analyses and tolerance stack-ups so parts meet functional, manufacturing and assembly requirements first time.
• Drive engineering changes: update CAD models, drawings, BOMs and documentation through the ECO process, with clean revision control in the PDM system.
• Go beyond mechanics: support electromechanical products and cable assembly design, from 3D models to product records.
• Collaborate closely: develop components and assemblies hand-in-hand with the Design team across sustaining work and product improvements.

We are looking for Mechanical Design Engineer who will be part of Medical Device Design. Your role will consist in being the owner of the CAD backbone of the product (models, drawings and documentation) for both new development and products already on the market. Your responsibilities:

• Own the design data: create and maintain 3D models, drawings (parts, assemblies, cables, packaging, labels) and associated product documentation in SolidWorks
• Make designs manufacturable: run dimensional analyses and tolerance stack‑ups so parts meet functional, manufacturing and assembly requirements first time
• Drive engineering changes: update CAD models, drawings, BOMs and documentation through the ECO process, with clean revision control in the PDM system
• Go beyond mechanics: support electromechanical products and cable assembly design, from 3D models to product records

Profile sought:

• Degree in mechanical design, micro‑mechanics, mechatronics or equivalent
• 5+ years designing products in a regulated industry (medical devices); mechatronics or electronics exposure is a strong plus
• Advanced SolidWorks skills and extensive experience producing detailed manufacturing drawings
• Strong command of GD&T / GPS and dimensional tolerancing
• Working knowledge of Windchill or a similar PDM system (document control, revisions, ECOs)
• Familiarity with cable assembly drawings, packaging and labeling specifications
• A detail‑oriented, well‑organized way of working, and English at B2+ for daily collaboration with multi‑site, multicultural teams
