Zusammenfassung

Lonza Group Ltd. is seeking a Material Project Lead to manage customer project material requirements, lead times, and production plans.

You will own the project BOM lifecycle, coordinate with teams, and drive material availability and process order reviews to ensure accurate requirements. In this role, you will set safety stock, initiate new material creation, and support supply chain improvements while engaging cross-functionally.

Qualifikationen

  • Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Business, SCM, Procurement, or similar fields.
  • Confirmed experience in SCM, Materials Planning/Scheduling, Project Management and/or Purchasing.
  • Proficient knowledge of SAP MM, Power BI, and MS Office.
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Aufgaben

  • Manage a portfolio of customer projects ensuring material requirements are accurate in the system according to project needs, lead times, and production plan.
  • Own creation, maintenance, review, and decommissioning of the project BOM, coordinating with teams to update systems.
  • Identify and initiate requests for new material creation to support project needs.
  • Liaise with project team to address material issues, identifying alternatives and technical solutions.
  • Perform material availability checks and ensure correct batch allocation and MRP effectiveness.
  • Set up safety stock for non-common materials and ensure charging of materials at end of production campaigns.
  • Review process orders for raw material consumption and adjust BOM accordingly.
  • Participate in supply chain improvement initiatives leveraging material management expertise.

The actual location of this job is in Visp, Switzerland. The Material Project Lead - MPL will perform all duties to ensure that material requirements for customer projects are accurately maintained and aligned with project needs, material lead times, and production plans. Responsible for managing the end-to-end lifecycle of the project Bill of Materials and ensuring system updates reflect project fulfilment requirements.

What you will do:
  • Manage a portfolio of customer projects ensuring material requirements are accurately maintained in the system according to project needs, lead times, and the production plan.
  • Own the creation, maintenance, review, and decommissioning of the project BOM, coordinating with project teams to ensure fulfilment and updating systems accordingly.
  • Identify and initiate requests for new material creation as required to support project needs.
  • Liaise with the project team to address material issues from the project perspective, including identifying alternative materials and aligning on potential technical solutions.
  • Perform material availability checks, ensuring correct batch allocation and accuracy of production material requests.
  • Validate supply scenarios from the material availability perspective.
  • Set-up the safety stock for non-common and unique materials as per customer contracts (in conjunction with Program Management organization) and ensure charging the materials at the end of the production campaigns as part of the SMOG process.
  • Perform process order reviews for raw material consumption and adjust BOM to reflect accurate material requirements.
  • Participates in supply chain improvement initiatives bringing material management expertise.

Working together in person supports close, real-time collaboration and the technical precision needed to manufacture medicines to the highest quality and safety standards.

We offer flexibility to work remotely for no more than 20% of your time. Requests are considered on a case‑by‑case basis, in line with business needs.

What we are looking for:
  • Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Business, SCM, Procurement, or similar fields.
  • Confirmed experience in SCM, Materials Planning/Scheduling, Project Management and/or Purchasing.
  • Proficient knowledge of SAP MM, Power BI, and MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
  • A great team member with the ability to influence and collaborate across cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in English is required, with additional German preferred.
