Our client, a leading company in the life sciences and diagnostics industry, is looking for an experienced Precision Dispensing / Process Engineer to support manufacturing operations at its site in Rotkreuz.
The role focuses on applying hands-on precision dispensing expertise directly on the production floor, working closely with process engineers, operators, and quality teams to stabilize manufacturing processes, minimize scrap, and improve product quality.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Conduct hands-on investigations across the manufacturing line to identify root causes of WIP yield loss, downtime, and dispensing-related deviations, and develop concrete remediation plans.
- Spend consistent time on the production floor observing manufacturing runs and working closely with operators and shift leads.
- Fine-tune, characterize, and troubleshoot automated precision dispensing equipment, particularly involving low-viscosity fluids, surface interactions, and tight tolerances.
- Plan, execute, and evaluate production-line trials using structured problem-solving methods such as DOE and root-cause analysis.
- Analyze sensor production and quality-control data to identify variability, monitor drifting parameters, and evaluate the effectiveness of corrective actions.
- Collaborate across equipment vendors, shop-floor operators, Process Engineering, Quality, and Regulatory teams to implement sustainable process improvements.
Must Haves
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in automated precision dispensing or fluid deposition, ideally involving low-viscosity fluids.
- Practical experience setting up, fine-tuning, characterizing, and troubleshooting dispensing equipment/platforms.
- Proven experience turning technical troubleshooting into measurable manufacturing improvements, such as scrap reduction, yield improvement, or cycle-time stabilization.
- Comfortable working hands-on in a manufacturing environment and directly alongside shop-floor operators.
- Technical degree such as BSc/MSc in Process, Mechanical, Chemical, Materials, or Biomedical Engineering, or a technical/vocational qualification combined with strong relevant experience.
- Experience with root-cause analysis, statistical methods, and structured experimentation.
- Solid understanding of material properties, dispensing parameters, and equipment condition.
- Fluent English and minimum B2 German.
Nice to Have
- Experience in Life Sciences, Medical Devices, Diagnostics, or another regulated GxP/GMP manufacturing environment.
- Experience with sensor manufacturing, particularly electrochemical or analytical sensors, microassembly, functional coating, or cartridge assembly.
- Experience with deviation investigations, CAPAs, and technical change controls.
- Experience using data and statistical tools for process monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Previous experience working with precision dispensing equipment vendors or automated system integrators.
