Conduct hands-on investigations across manufacturing lines to identify root causes of work-in-progress (WIP) yield losses, downtime, and dispensing-related deviations. Develop and implement effective corrective actions.
Work directly on the production floor, observing manufacturing processes across multiple shifts and collaborating closely with operators and shift leads.
Provide technical guidance and support to production personnel, helping to improve process understanding and operational performance.
Fine-tune, characterize, and troubleshoot automated dispensing equipment across multiple platforms, with a particular focus on low-viscosity fluids, surface interactions, and precise dispensing tolerances.
Plan, execute, and evaluate production trials using structured problem-solving methodologies, including Design of Experiments (DOE) and root-cause analysis.
Analyze manufacturing and quality control data to identify process variations, detect parameter deviations, and assess the effectiveness of corrective actions.
Collaborate with equipment vendors, production teams, process engineers, and quality specialists to implement sustainable process improvements and change controls.
At least 5 years of hands-on experience in automated precision dispensing, fluid deposition, or a closely related engineering field.
Proven expertise in setting up, fine-tuning, characterizing, and troubleshooting automated dispensing equipment, ideally involving low-viscosity fluids.
Demonstrated experience translating technical troubleshooting into measurable manufacturing improvements, such as scrap reduction, yield improvement, and cycle-time stabilization.
A strong practical and technical mindset, with a willingness to work directly on the production floor and collaborate with operators across different shifts.
Completed technical degree (BSc/MSc) in Process, Mechanical, Chemical, Materials, or Biomedical Engineering, or an equivalent technical qualification supported by substantial relevant engineering experience.
Solid understanding of material properties, dispensing parameters, and equipment performance.
Experience with root-cause analysis, statistical methods, and structured experimentation to support data-driven decisions.
Fluent English and German language skills at minimum B2 level.
Experience in Life Sciences, Medical Devices, Diagnostics, or another highly regulated GxP/GMP manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with sensor manufacturing, particularly electrochemical or analytical sensors, microassembly, functional coating, or cartridge assembly.
Experience with non-conformity investigations, deviation management, CAPAs, and technical change-control documentation.
Familiarity with statistical process monitoring and data analysis tools.
Previous experience working with precision dispensing equipment manufacturers or automated system integrators.
