Qualifications

• 5–7 years in indirect tax consulting (Swiss or international)

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with indirect tax rules locally and globally across industries
• Address evolving VAT/e-invoicing and e-commerce VAT challenges
• Improve VAT efficiency in supply chains and support digitalization
• Mentor and train junior team members and manage client projects from needs to recommendations
• Collaborate with EY's global Indirect Tax network for holistic solutions
• Work with Tax, Assurance, and Advisory teams to meet client needs with innovative solutions
• Tackle complex Swiss and international tax questions in an interdisciplinary setting
• Engage in projects at the intersection of business and law with daily client interaction

Your key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with indirect tax rules on a local and global scale, supporting diverse clients across all industries, from manufactured products to real estate and financial activities
• Address the complexities of a constantly evolving tax landscape, keeping abreast with e-commerce VAT rules, and rapidly spreading e-invoicing requirements
• Focus on increased VAT efficiency within supply chains and support clients in transitioning to a digitalized world
• Be a key pilar of our team growth, supporting and training our more junior colleagues and managing your projects from identifying clients' needs to delivering our recommendations
• Collaborate with our global network of Indirect tax experts dedicated to delivering holistic, practice-oriented solutions
• Work closely with colleagues in Tax, Assurance, and Advisory Services to comprehensively meet clients' needs and offer innovative solutions
• Tackle complex Swiss and international tax questions within an interdisciplinary environment, fostering constant learning opportunities and personal development
• Engage in exciting projects at the intersection of business and law, gaining deep insights into various industries and business areas through daily client interactions and communication with tax authorities

Skills and attributes for success

• A recognized diploma in Law and/or Economics, preferably obtained from a Swiss University or equivalent foreign diploma; certified Tax Expert recognition is considered an asset
• 5 to 7 years of experience in indirect tax consulting, preferably gained at one of the Big4 or a comparable consulting firm, either in Switzerland or internationally; additional experience as an in-house VAT advisor is considered a valuable asset
• Proven track record as a manager who has responsibly handled client mandates and guided less experienced colleagues through complex projects
• Fluent in and English, essential for our international company operations; proficiency in other foreign languages is highly appreciated
