Zusammenfassung

Bathco, a global metals trading and technology group headquartered in Zurich, seeks an experienced trader to manage LME and derivatives hedging for its physical metals business. You will collaborate with physical traders to control risk, while exploring proprietary trading opportunities within approved limits.

The role requires 3–5 years in metals trading, strong knowledge of base metals markets, and proficiency with futures, options, and hedging.

Qualifikationen

• 3–5 years of experience trading LME products or commodity derivatives.
• Strong understanding of aluminium and base metals markets.
• Experience with futures, options, spreads and hedging strategies.
• Solid grasp of risk management principles and exposure analysis.
• Excellent analytical and quantitative skills.
• Fluent in English; other languages are advantageous.

Aufgaben

• Execute and manage all LME and derivatives hedging activities for Bathco’s physical metals business.
• Work closely with physical traders to keep positions within approved risk limits.
• Manage outright price risk, spreads, FX exposure and market positioning.
• Monitor risk and recommend hedging strategies.
• Maintain and reconcile all derivatives transactions in trading and risk systems.
• Provide daily/monthly settlement prices and market updates.
• Track developments across metals, FX, macro and financial markets.
• Manage relationships with brokers, banks and financial counterparties.
• Negotiate and oversee trading credit lines and broker setups.
• Identify and execute trading opportunities within approved limits and VAR parameters.
• Develop and implement trading strategies based on fundamentals, technicals and market structure.
• Support continuous improvement of trading processes and systems.
• Train colleagues on hedging, derivatives and risk management best practices.

You will work closely with physical traders to manage price, spread and foreign exchange risk while ensuring compliance with company risk limits.

In addition to supporting the physical trading business, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to generate proprietary trading profits within approved risk parameters, depending on experience and performance.

Your responsibilities:

Skills and experience you bring along:

• 3–5 years of experience trading LME products, commodity derivatives or OTC metals


• Strong understanding of aluminium and base metals markets


• Experience with futures, options, spreads and hedging strategies


• Solid grasp of risk management principles and exposure analysis


• Experience working with physical commodity trading desks is highly desirable


• Excellent analytical and quantitative skills


• Commercial mindset with ability to identify and monetise market opportunities


• Strong communication skills and confidence interacting with traders, brokers and banks


• Fluency in English; additional languages are an advantage
