Job summary

The Global Fund is seeking a Legal Counsel with a primary focus on either Institutional Matters or Grant Management. The role provides legal support for the organization’s portfolio management of investments and day-to-day institutional needs, collaborating across teams to ensure compliance with policies and regulatory obligations.

Essential qualifications include an advanced law degree, five years of legal experience, and bar membership.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in law (Juris Doctor or equivalent).
• Desirable: post-graduate degree or certification in relevant area of law; and Bar membership.
• At least five years of legal experience in private practice or in-house settings with cross-functional advice.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice for core business (Grant Management) and institutional needs (Institutional Matters).
• Draft and negotiate grant agreements and other legal documents; review funding requests and design implementation arrangements.
• Advise on corporate governance, employment law, procurement, ethics, risk management and dispute resolution.
