Job summary

The WTO Secretariat is offering a six-month internship in the Legal Affairs Division, starting in 2027 in Geneva. Under the supervision of a designated legal officer, you will engage in legal research, prepare analyses on WTO law, and assist with dispute settlement and publications.

You will collaborate across the Division on projects, contribute to training materials, and gain exposure to the WTO’s legal and institutional work, including advisory work and dispute mechanisms.

Qualifications

• Must hold a degree leading to admission to practice law (LL.B or JD) and have at least one year of post-graduate studies.
• Strong knowledge of WTO law and general public international law.
• Fluent in English; knowledge of French and/or Spanish is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing legal advice and analysis on WTO law and general public international law.
• Provide administrative, organizational, and logistical support to WTO dispute settlement panels.
• Contribute to the preparation of WTO publications, reports, and analyses relating to WTO law, dispute settlement, and the work of the Division.
• Assist in the development and delivery of internal and external training materials on WTO law and dispute settlement procedures.
