Job summary

Hamamatsu Photonics A/S in Switzerland seeks a leader to drive the Optical Engineering team focused on ultrafast laser systems, blending fiber and free-space tech. You will provide both technical leadership and people management across the full lifecycle from concept to production, in a dynamic, international setting.

You will guide architecture, verification, and industrialization while mentoring engineers and aligning cross-functional teams across sites.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in a relevant technical field.
• Strong leadership or management experience is required.
• Experience leading R&D teams in photonics or laser systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the optical engineering team and set objectives.
• Guide design, development, verification, and industrialization of laser systems.
• Provide technical leadership across product lifecycle.
• Drive design reviews, risk management, and documentation.
• Collaborate across Systems Eng, Electronics, Mechanics, Software, QA, and Operations.
• Foster innovation and continuous improvement in engineering methods.
