An excellent opportunity for an experienced and driven Lead Mechanical Engineer to join an international consultancy, based in their Zurich office.

Job Description:

The Resolute Group is working in partnership with a well-established international consultancy that is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to strengthen its Data Centre design capability. This role is ideally suited to a mechanical engineer with strong experience in mission-critical environments such as Data Centres or similarly complex facilities (e.g. pharmaceutical or industrial projects). You will play a key role in delivering technically robust mechanical designs while providing leadership and direction within project teams.

Day-to-Day Duties:

• Take technical ownership of mechanical design delivery for large-scale Data Centre projects from concept through to construction.
• Lead, coordinate, and mentor mechanical design teams, ensuring high-quality outputs that meet programme, budget, and client requirements.
• Act as the primary mechanical technical interface for clients, multidisciplinary consultants, and internal stakeholders.
• Develop and review mechanical design solutions, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, codes, local regulations, and client specifications.
• Review and approve mechanical design documentation, calculations, specifications, and technical reports, ensuring accuracy, resilience, efficiency, and constructability.
• Develop and review Data Centre mechanical systems, including cooling, HVAC, chilled water, heat rejection, ventilation, and associated critical infrastructure.
• Collaborate closely with electrical, structural, and architectural teams to deliver fully coordinated multidisciplinary designs.
• Support project managers with technical input on programme, risk management, value engineering, and cost optimisation.
• Contribute to business development activities by providing mechanical expertise for bids, proposals, and client presentations.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Proven experience as a Lead or Senior Mechanical Engineer on Data Centre projects, ideally within a design consultancy environment.
• In-depth knowledge of Data Centre mechanical systems, including cooling systems, HVAC, chilled water, heat rejection, ventilation, and resilience strategies.
• Experience leading mechanical teams and coordinating with multidisciplinary design teams on complex projects.
• Excellent command of English and German (written and spoken).
• Familiarity with international standards, client requirements, and construction practices relevant to mission-critical facilities.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
