Job summary

The Bank for International Settlements (BIS) is seeking a Senior/Lead Data & Analytics Engineer in the Monetary and Economic Department, MED IT unit, to drive data architectures and analytical platforms. The role involves leading data solutions, collaborating with economists, technologists, and data scientists to deliver AI-enabled insights.

Based in Basel, Switzerland, the position offers relocation support and a three-year fixed-term contract with global eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.
• 6+ years of experience in data and analytics engineering.
• Experience guiding juniors and providing supervision.
• Advanced ability to acquire, organise, protect, process and analyse data.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement IT strategy and target architecture for statistical/analytical apps.
• Lead design and implementation of data and analytics applications, interfaces and services.
• Ensure data quality and alignment with architecture and data standards.
• Apply advanced AI/ML methods to streamline operations and forecasting.
• Provide technical guidance and oversee production support and project delivery.
