It conducts technological and clinical research to optimize spot-scanning proton beam therapy and to expand the range of indications for proton radiotherapy. In addition to its research activities, PSI provides a clinical program for patients with indications approved for proton beam therapy within the Swiss health care system. At the Center for Proton Therapy CPT, deep-seated tumors are treated using two gantries, while ocular tumors are treated on a dedicated beam line.
