Zusammenfassung

Exyte Switzerland AG is seeking a Lead Chemical Engineer (m/f/d) to lead chemical and process engineering activities for complex pharma/biotech facility projects. You will provide technical leadership, coordinate interdisciplinary interfaces, and ensure engineering solutions meet GMP and project requirements from concept to commissioning.

The role requires a Bachelor's or Master's in Chemical/Process Engineering and 7+ years’ experience, with fluency in German or French and English.

Aufgaben

• Lead and coordinate chemical and process engineering activities within multidisciplinary project teams.
• Manage project scope, budget and schedule for the assigned discipline.
• Serve as the primary interface between process engineering and other engineering disciplines.
• Develop and review process design deliverables, including PFDs, P&IDs, mass and energy balances, equipment specifications and utility concepts.
• Lead technical discussions and workshops with clients and project stakeholders.
• Facilitate and support GMP reviews, FATs and SATs.
• Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical industry standards, GMP requirements and applicable safety regulations.
• Contribute to proposals, cost estimates, and technical concepts during business development activities.
• Drive continuous improvement of engineering standards, tools and work processes.
• Mentor and support the development of junior engineers and project team members.
• Act as a subject matter expert in areas such as process design, clean utilities, laboratory systems, simulation or manufacturing technologies.

Acting as a key point of contact for clients and project stakeholders, you will support successful project delivery from conceptual design through commissioning.

• Serve as the primary interface between process engineering and other engineering disciplines
• Develop and review process design deliverables, including process flow diagrams (PFDs), P&IDs, mass and energy balances, equipment specifications and utility concepts
• Lead technical discussions and workshops with clients and project stakeholders
• Facilitate and support HAZOP studies, GMP reviews, FATs and SATs
• Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical industry standards, GMP requirements and applicable safety regulations
• Contribute to proposals, cost estimates, man-hour calculations and technical concepts during business development activities
• Drive continuous improvement of engineering standards, tools and work processes
• Mentor and support the development of junior engineers and project team members
• Act as a subject matter expert in areas such as process design, clean utilities, laboratory systems, simulation or manufacturing technologies

Show your expertise

• Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or a related engineering discipline
• Minimum 7 years of experience in the design and engineering of pharmaceutical, biotechnology or life sciences facilities
• Proven experience leading engineering teams and coordinating multidisciplinary projects
• Strong knowledge of process design principles, facility and equipment design, GMP requirements and safety regulations
• Experience across multiple project phases from concept design through detailed engineering and commissioning is preferred
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Structured and solution-oriented way of working with strong attention to detail
• Fluent German or French and English language skills
