Zusammenfassung

ETH Zürich's Quake Laboratory seeks a Laboratory Manager to run day-to-day wet-lab operations across bacterial and mammalian systems, high-throughput sequencing, and tissue handling. You will mentor staff, maintain SOPs, and ensure safety and compliance.

You will coordinate with core facilities and external providers, manage procurement, budgeting, and infrastructure, enabling ambitious science and fostering a collaborative, reproducible research culture.

Qualifikationen

• PhD in molecular biology, biochemistry, bioengineering, genomics, or closely related field.
• At least 5 years post‑degree hands‑on lab experience in a research setting.
• Experience leading a cross‑disciplinary wet‑lab team.
• Proven ability to write SOPs and manage lab operations.
• Strong English communication and collaboration with clinicians and vendors.

Aufgaben

• Oversee build-out and operation of the wet-bench facilities and equipment at ETH Zurich.
• Maintain shared resources: cell culture rooms, BSL‑2 areas, sequencing prep zones.
• Manage ordering, inventory, supplier relationships, and stockroom organisation.
• Maintain and audit SOPs, sample-tracking, and electronic lab notebook practices.
• Coordinate with ETH core facilities and external service providers.
• Lead mammalian cell culture and tissue‑handling workflows.
• Oversee cfDNA/cfRNA workflows and high-throughput sequencing QC.
• Onboard and mentor new lab members; lead troubleshooting and training.
• Uphold biosafety, ethics, and data protection compliance.
