ETH Zürich's KOF Swiss Economic Institute seeks a Junior Researcher (Scientific assistant) to support the SNSF project "Taxation in a Globalized Economy: Profit Shifting, Tax Competition, and the Political Economy of Tax Havens" with a 70% fixed-term contract starting November 1, 2026 or by agreement.

You will work on preparing and analyzing micro data, descriptive analyses, and empirical analyses using causal inference methods, plus preparing research materials and assisting in organizing an

Qualifikationen

• Completed master's degree in economics, political science, or other quantitative social science.
• Genuine interest in policy-relevant questions in taxation and public economics.
• Reliable, structured and precise working style.
• Very good planning and coordination skills.
• Comfortable formulating questions and proactively seeking guidance as needed.
• Excellent writing skills in English and German.

Aufgaben

• Prepare and analyze micro-level data underlying the project's research questions.
• Prepare and manage linked micro-level datasets (cleaning, merging, quality checks).
• Conduct descriptive analyses of administrative and survey data.
• Run guided empirical analyses using reduced-form causal inference methods.
• Prepare presentation slides and other research materials.
• Occasionally assist in organizing an academic workshop.
