Zusammenfassung

Dexterous Endoscopes, an EPFL spin-off, is seeking a Junior R&D Engineer in Lausanne to join our hardware team. You will help develop the medical endoscopy system, focusing on mechanical design, prototyping, testing, and integration of actuation and camera modules to deliver real-time visualization for surgeons.

You will collaborate with the CTO and cross-functional teams, design endoscope shafts, optimize flow and imaging performance, and contribute to bringing first products toward regulatory

Qualifikationen

• MSc in mechanical engineering or similar.
• 1+ years of hands-on medical device or precision mechanical product development.
• Strong CAD and fast prototyping skills (3D printing, machining).
• Fluent in English (C1).

Aufgaben

• Design, prototype and iterate endoscope subsystems: distal tip, steering mechanism, shaft and working channel.
• Integrate camera and LED modules and optimize image/illumination at the distal tip.
• Design and characterize irrigation and suction performance with flow calculations and bench tests.
• Build test rigs and conduct mechanical and functional verification tests (deflection, torque, stiffness, fatigue, flow, leak).
• Collaborate with contract manufacturers and suppliers on part design and assembly processes.
• Prepare design history files with design docs, test protocols and reports.
• Support bench, cadaver and preclinical studies with clinical partners.
