CERN in Geneva, Switzerland, invites applications for a Mechanical Engineer to contribute to design and development of advanced electromechanical systems for accelerator beam transfer across CERN's complex. You will work with engineers, physicists and technicians to translate concepts into practical solutions, producing detailed documentation and supporting assembly and testing.
The role requires hands-on CAD experience, FEM knowledge, and a readiness to learn French.
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will join the Mechanics, Development and Design (MDD) section, where you will contribute to the design and development of advanced electromechanical systems for accelerator beam transfer across the entire CERN accelerator complex. Working alongside experienced engineers, physicists, and technicians, you will help develop innovative equipment used in a world‑leading scientific research environment.
Job closing date: 06.08.2026 at 23:59 CEST.
Contract duration: 24 months, with a possible extension up to 36 months maximum.
Working hours: 40 hours per week.
Job flexibility: Fully Onsite.
Target start date: 01-October-2026.
