We are looking for a detail oriented Junior Accountant to support accounting and finance operations for two legal entities. The role includes Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), monthly and annual closing activities, banking transactions, VAT compliance, and ERP transaction management. Knowledge of Swiss accounting practices and SAP is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable (AP)

• Process vendor invoices and employee expense claims.
• Ensure timely vendor payments and reconciliation of supplier accounts.
• Resolve invoice discrepancies and vendor queries.

Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Generate customer invoices and track collections.
• Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up on overdue payments.
• Reconcile customer accounts.

General Accounting & Financial Closing

• Perform accounting activities for two legal entities.
• Manage end-to-end month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations.
• Finalise books of accounts and support statutory and audit requirements.
• Maintain balance sheet schedules and supporting documentation.

Banking & Treasury Operations

• Execute banking transactions - payments, and fund transfers.
• Perform bank reconciliations and investigate unreconciled items.
• Liaise with banks for routine operational matters.

Tax & Compliance

• Prepare and file Swiss VAT returns accurately and on time.
• Support compliance with Swiss regulatory and accounting requirements.
• Assist during internal and external audits.

SAP & System Management

• Set up and maintain new transactions, master data, and accounting records in SAP.
• Ensure accounting entries are processed accurately within SAP.
• Support system improvements and process automation initiatives.

Other Adhoc Activities:

• Undertake any other ad-hoc projects and responsibilities assigned from time to time by the Finance Manager or Management.

Qualifications & Skills

• Masters’ degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5 + years of accounting experience.
• Good understanding of AP, AR, and general accounting processes.
• Experience with month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Knowledge of Swiss VAT regulations and filings.
• SAP experience preferred.
• Strong MS Excel skills.
• Good communication skills in English and French (written and spoken).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
