Job summary

Actalent is seeking a System Engineer to join the Engineering & Systems Automation 1 team in Switzerland. You will support production in OT/IT infrastructure, coordinate changes to servers and networks, and assist with capacity expansion projects from a systems engineering perspective.

The role emphasizes GMP-compliant documentation and close collaboration with IT and Automation teams. You will contribute to system management, lifecycle support for OT infrastructure, and cross-functional project

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in systems engineering, IT administration or automation engineering.
• Solid knowledge of server OS administration (Windows/Linux) and network technology (LAN/VLAN/Firewalls) in regulated environments.
• Fluent German and very good English are required.

Responsibilities

• Independent work with and administration of IT/OT infrastructures (servers, clients, networks, virtualization) for projects and maintenance.
• Direct support for troubleshooting at system, application and network levels with Automation Engineers, Global IT and suppliers.
• Implement corrective and preventive measures to improve OT/IT infrastructure and system stability.
• Maintenance activities (patch management, updates) for all local IT/OT systems.
• Support commissioning activities from a systems engineering perspective (servers, network connections).
• Create system design specifications, IT architecture diagrams and work instructions; maintain GMP-compliant documentation.
• Monitor, handle incidents and lifecycle management of server infrastructure (AD users, backups, audit trails).
• Communicate and coordinate with the IT team; contribute to digital strategies and concepts.
