IWB Industrielle Werke Basel seeks an experienced IT architect to drive the digital agenda for the DGP. You will shape technical roadmaps, oversee architecture decisions and coordinate with IT leads, business units and external partners to deliver value.

Based in Basel, the role offers a flexible work model with onsite collaboration at Margarethenstrasse 40 and occasional home office, fostering continuous improvement and secure, sustainable IT operations.

Qualifikationen

• Several years of experience developing complex system landscapes and understanding energy sector IT.
• Broad IT and architectural knowhow across cloud, integration, security, DevOps, operations and lifecycle management.

Role

Permanent, from 01.01.2027 or earlier by arrangement. IWB supplies people and companies in the Basel region with electricity, heat, drinking water, telecom and mobility solutions. In addition, IWB shapes the climate-friendly energy world of tomorrow.

Responsibilities

• Proactively develop the DGP Sales in tandem with the Business Lead technologically and future-oriented.
• Assess business processes, data flows, business architecture as well as technological requirements and dependencies and derive the technical roadmap and target architecture from them.
• Together with the Business Lead, other IT Leads, system owners as well as architecture and external IT partners, develop common capabilities, standards and reusable solutions.
• Technically manage ongoing digitalisation projects, deploy internal and external IT resources according to priorities and dependencies, and specifically strengthen delivery capability.
• Ensure the stability, security and future viability of the DGP as well as promote efficient development and sustainable, resource-saving operation.

Qualifications

• Several years of experience in the technological development of complex system landscapes as well as good knowledge of energy industry processes and IT applications.
• Thanks to your broad IT and architectural understanding, you keep an overview even in complex system landscapes and bring good knowledge in cloud, integration, security, DevOps, operations and lifecycle management.
• You bring several years of experience at the interface between IT and the business area and translate business challenges into technological solutions.
• Completed studies in business informatics, computer science or similar; further training in IT strategy, architecture, cloud, security or DevOps is an advantage.
• You bring high initiative, technological curiosity and willingness to shape, network actively and drive topics forward together with business and ICT.
