Job summary

UBS Card Center AG in Glattbrugg is seeking an IT Engineer for Server & Storage at 100% workload. You will operate and extend bare-metal server platforms (e.g., Cisco UCS-X), design and optimize enterprise storage (NetApp/IBM) and backup environments, and work with container and virtualization teams to integrate infrastructure services.

Qualifications

• Degree in computer science, business informatics or comparable higher education, plus relevant training in infrastructure or cloud technologies.
• Three to five years of hands‑on experience as an IT engineer in data center environments (compute, storage, backup).
• Strong knowledge of bare‑metal platforms (e.g. UCS‑X), enterprise storage (NetApp/IBM) and backup solutions (Commvault).
• Good understanding of virtualization and container platforms; experience with automation tools (Ansible, Terraform).
• Excellent communication, ownership mindset and ability to work with cross‑functional teams; fluent English.
• Experience in agile ways of working (Scrum, Kanban) is beneficial.

Your team

You'll join our Data Center & Infrastructure team in the IT organization and help shape the next generation of our on‑premises and hybrid infrastructure.
Together with specialists for compute, storage, backup, networking and automation, you'll build and run a robust, scalable and secure foundation for our business applications and container platforms.

Your role

• Engineer, operate and further develop our bare‑metal server platforms (for example Cisco UCS‑X or similar), including lifecycle management and capacity planning
• Design, implement and optimize enterprise storage solutions (NetApp, IBM or comparable) and backup environments (Commvault or similar) for high availability and performance
• Work closely with container, virtualization and application teams to integrate and configure infrastructure services for new and existing workloads
• Drive automation of infrastructure services using tools such as Ansible, Terraform or similar to increase reliability and reduce manual work
• Manage and continuously improve our data center landscape (monitoring, documentation, standards) with a strong focus on stability and security
• Plan, coordinate and deliver infrastructure projects in an agile setup, including stakeholder communication and reporting

Your expertise

• Degree in computer science, business informatics or comparable higher education (university or university of applied sciences), plus relevant further training in infrastructure or cloud technologies
• Three to five years of hands‑on experience as an IT engineer in data center environments (compute, storage, backup, data center management) in a production setting
• Solid knowledge of bare‑metal platforms (for example UCS‑X or similar), enterprise storage (NetApp, IBM or other) and backup solutions (Commvault or comparable), plus a good understanding of virtualization and container platforms
• Practical experience with infrastructure automation (for example Ansible, Terraform or similar) and agile ways of working (Scrum, Kanban or scaled agile frameworks)
• Very good communication skills, a strong sense of ownership and quality, and the ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams and stakeholders
• Fluency in and a good command of English, both written and spoken
