Zusammenfassung

Miraex is seeking an intern to join our team in Ecublens, VD, Switzerland, focusing on design, theory of operation, and development of applications for quantum electro-optic integrated photonic devices. You will model devices and work on problems at the intersection of theory and experiment, mentored by a seasoned team.

This 6–12 month internship offers 80–100% activity, on-site work, and exposure to practical product development within a fast-growing quantum tech company.

Qualifikationen

  • Experience in a research environment.
  • Basic knowledge of quantum optics, optical systems, and electrical circuits.
  • Prior work on theory coupled to experiment, or in quantum optics or device theory.
  • Computational thinking and automation in Python or other scientific programming languages.
  • Communication and documentation in English.

Aufgaben

  • Modeling of electro-optic devices at component and system level.
  • Develop ideas, models, and calculations describing device applications in quantum sensing, networking, and computing.
  • Collaborate in a small horizontal R&D team and contribute to hands-on development of applied products.
  • Contribute to documentation and reporting of research findings.

Job Description

Miraex is looking for an internto join our team who will befocused on the design,theory of operation, and development of applicationsfor our quantum electro-optic integrated photonic devices. We are looking for someone with a passion for quantum technology and previous experience solving theoretical and/or practical research problems. As a well-rounded individual with a genuine interest in technology and applied physics, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of tasks and projects.

This internship will give you experience in a small and horizontal R&D team, where every voice is heard and each new challenge is an opportunity to learn something new. You will be able to gain experience in component and system level modeling of electro-optic devices. You will develop ideas, models, and calculations describing how such devices can be used to solve major challenges in quantum sensing, networking, and computing, while being mentored by our team with decades worth of experience in quantum optical systems.

  • Duration: 6 to 12 months
  • Activity rate: 80–100%
  • Place of work: on-site (Ecublens, VD)
Mandatory skills
  • Experience in a research environment.
  • Basic knowledge of quantum optics, optical systems, and electrical circuits.
  • Prior work on theory coupled to experiment, or in quantum optics or atomic/optical device theory.
  • Computational thinking and automation in Python or other scientific programming languages.
  • Communication and documentation skills (written/oral) in English.
Skills that will make the difference
  • Experience studying or working with RF, electro-optic, and/or optical components, systems, and circuits.
  • Understanding of superconducting quantum circuits or materials.
  • Understanding of quantum computing and networking architectures.
  • Prior work on theory coupled to experiment, or in quantum optics or device theory.
  • Conceptualizationof how electro-optic technology can be appliedto support applications in quantum computing, networking, and sensing.
