VAT Group in Haag, St. Gallen, CH seeks an MSc intern to combine hands-on experiments with data‑driven modelling. You will plan experiments, collect and preprocess multivariate sensor data, and apply time-series ML methods to understand gas dynamics in vacuum systems.

You will learn to validate models under varying conditions and present results to engineers, contributing to semiconductor equipment research.

Qualifikationen

• Pursuing an MSc degree in relevant fields (data science, ML, physics, maths, mechanical/electrical engineering).
• Basic knowledge of data analysis, statistics, signal processing, or ML.
• Programming experience in Python or MATLAB.
• Interest in combining experimental work with data-driven modelling.

Aufgaben

• Assist in experimental planning and data collection in vacuum test labs.
• Develop data-preprocessing workflows for synchronization and quality assessment.
• Explore sensor data to relate signals to gas properties and process conditions.
• Implement data-driven methods for feature extraction and classification.
