VAT Group in Haag, St. Gallen, seeks a mechanical engineer to develop and sustain mechatronic vacuum valves, joining an international team. You will contribute to design projects and drive improvements across the product lifecycle.

You will collaborate with customers across the USA and Asia, coordinate with production, and support test procedures, CAD documentation, and manufacturing optimization. English is essential; German is a plus; travel 10–15% is expected.

Qualifikationen

• Degree in mechanical engineering (FH/ETH) or comparable qualification.
• Proven expertise in development and design of complex mechatronic systems.
• 3–5 years of professional experience in development, preferably in vacuum.
• Excellent English; German is a plus.
• Willingness to travel 10–15%.

Aufgaben

• Development, design and sustainment of mechatronic vacuum valves and related tech.
• Collaborate with customers worldwide to provide solutions.
• Coordinate with sales, quality, account- and product managers as well as production.
• Develop test and inspection procedures in close cooperation with labs.
• Create and maintain production drawings, bill of material and all technical documentation.
• Drive design-for-manufacturing initiatives and product optimization with production and supply chain.
• Provide technical expertise in investigation, root-cause analysis and solutions.
• Responsible contact person for complex assemblies and products.
• Collaborate in an interdisciplinary team for challenging projects.
