Location: Geneva, Switzerland

The Private Sector and Philanthropic Engagement (PSPE) Unit, within the Division of Development Partnerships and Programme Delivery (DPPD), coordinates WMO's institutional engagement with private and non-state actors, including foundations, philanthropies, commercial entities, business associations and high-net-worth individuals. The Unit mobilizes private and philanthropic resources and leads operationalization of the WMO Commons, a pooled financing mechanism aiming to raise 100 million USD over five years, alongside coordinating the Open Consultative Platform (OCP) for structured dialogue with private and academic sectors. The intern will provide operational support in research, meeting coordination, documentation, due diligence and communications. Duties include supporting bilateral meetings with private-sector companies, foundations and investors; preparing agendas, background notes and meeting summaries; maintaining the Dialogue Tracker and partner records; conducting research and mapping of prospective partners and funding opportunities; supporting due diligence reviews and risk assessments on prospective partners; supporting operationalization of the WMO Commons including pitch materials and FAQs; supporting OCP sessions and high-level events such as TECO Amsterdam, SERCOM-4, COP31 and the World Economic Forum; and preparing briefings, correspondence and reports.

Requirements: Master's level degree in international relations, international development, climate studies, business, economics, law or a related field. No prior experience required, though coursework or exposure to international organizations, private sector engagement or resource mobilization is an asset. Strong research and writing skills, ability to work in a multicultural environment, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks are required. Fluency in English required; knowledge of French is an advantage. Contract duration is 6 months, with possibility of renewal.
