Climeworks in Opfikon, Zurich is seeking an Intern in Sorbent Scale-Up & Quality. You will assist synthesis, testing and evaluation of sorbent materials from laboratory samples to commercial materials, supporting scale-up and analytics.

Work includes lab characterization, material processing, independent analysis and documentation to communicate findings to stakeholders and assist larger project goals.

• Material Scale-Up: assist synthesis, testing and evaluation of sorbent materials from laboratory samples to commercially available materials.
• Lab Characterization: perform lab-based characterizations, including CO2 adsorption behavior and chemical stability, support day-to-day lab activities.
• Material Processing: assist milling and drying, and analytics such as PSD and resistivity.
• Independent Analysis: work independently to understand properties of sorbent materials and support improving analytical methods.
• Validation & Reporting: document work, troubleshoot, and communicate results to stakeholders across Climeworks and support project goals.

• Material Scale-Up: Your mission at Climeworks is to support the synthesis, testing and evaluation of sorbent materials for direct air capture ranging from laboratory experimental samples to commercially available materials.

• Lab Characterization: You are part of an integrated team performing lab-based characterizations, including CO2 adsorption behavior and chemical stability and support the laboratory team with their day-to-day activity including reaction preparation and work-up.

• Material Processing: You support the team in activities related to material processing, including milling and drying, as well as the associated analytics such as PSD and resistivity.

• Independent Analysis: You work independently on tasks to understand properties of sorbent materials and support the team in improving analytical methods.

• Validation & Reporting: You validate, troubleshoot, and clearly document your work to communicate effectively with stakeholders across Climeworks and support larger project goals.
