Zusammenfassung

Climeworks in Zürich/Opfikon area seeks an internship to support evaluation and development of sorbents for direct air capture. You will gain hands-on lab experience in testing, data analysis, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

You’ll work on lab assessments, material stability tests, sorbent characterization, and contribute to method development and documentation for reliable results.

Qualifikationen

• Students actively studying in a relevant field (Chemistry, Materials Science or related).
• Hands-on lab experience in sorbent testing and data interpretation is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.

• Your role: As an intern, you will support the evaluation and development of sorbents and sorbent structures for DAC. You will gain hands‑on experience in lab‑based testing, data analysis, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

• Lab Assessments: You collaborate within an integrated team to carry out lab‑based assessments, including adsorption characterization, accelerated lifetime testing, and process‑relevant evaluations of novel materials.

• Material Stability: You investigate material stability by testing under accelerated aging conditions to simulate long‑term performance.

• Sorbent Characterization: You characterize sorbent behaviour by measuring unary and binary isotherms under controlled conditions.

• Independent Work: You work independently on targeted work packages to understand how material properties influence DAC performance.

• Method Development: You contribute to the development, refinement, and validation of experimental methods to ensure reliable and reproducible testing outcomes.

• Documentation & Communication: You validate, troubleshoot, and clearly document your work to ensure effective communication across interdisciplinary development teams at Climeworks.
