Job summary

Oratek in Switzerland designs and builds custom precision automation systems. We seek an Industrial Vision & Software Engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and turning ideas into robust industrial solutions.

You will work across optics, cameras, AI-based inspection and machine software, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deploy on real production machines, with a 100% on-site posture in Ecublens.

Qualifications

3–7 years developing industrial vision systems for special-purpose machinery, industrial automation or custom machine manufacturing.
Hands-on experience with Keyence, Cognex, HALCON or equivalent.
Strong understanding of optics, illumination, industrial cameras and image acquisition.
Industrial software (PLC) and modern web application development.
Autonomous, analytical and collaborative.
100% on site in Ecublens (VD).

Responsibilities

Design and develop complete industrial vision solutions integrated into automated machines.
Oversee the complete lifecycle of vision applications from feasibility to commissioning.
Analyse customer requirements and assess technical feasibility.
Design vision solutions for inspection, measurement and guidance.
Select and integrate cameras, optics, lighting and vision sensors.
Develop 2D/3D image processing algorithms.
Design AI-based inspection algorithms when appropriate.
Calibrate, validate and optimize vision systems.
Commission, tune and troubleshoot prototype and production machines.
Analyse rejects and instabilities; implement corrective actions.
