Ecolint, La Grande Boissière campus in Geneva, invites applications for a sabbatical leave replacement to teach Philosophy to Year 11 and IB Diploma Programme students (SL and HL). The role focuses on inquiry-based learning, assessment preparation, and collaboration within a vibrant Humanities department.

The ideal candidate holds a Philosophy degree with a teaching qualification, IB DP teaching experience, and strong English skills; French knowledge is an asset in our bilingual setting.

Qualifications

• University degree in Philosophy with a recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE).
• Proven experience teaching Philosophy within the IB Diploma Programme (SL and HL).
• Knowledge of IB Philosophy guide, assessment criteria, and modern teaching methodologies is desirable.
• French knowledge is an advantage in our bilingual context.

Responsibilities

• Teach Philosophy to Year 11 and IB DP_SL/HL students with inquiry-based lessons.
• Prepare IB DP students for all assessment components including External Assessments and IA.
• Update curriculum schemes and assessment tasks aligned with IB criteria and Ecolint standards.
• Provide timely feedback and differentiated support linking philosophical inquiry to real-world issues and TOK.
• Record and report student progress with regular communication to parents and leadership.
