Job summary

Corintis invites applications for an HPC Software & Operations Intern in Lausanne. You will learn to operate, optimise and develop our HPC environment, focusing on multi-core, multi-GPU and multi-node execution and the full execution chain from software to cluster operations.

No professional HPC experience is required. You will work with infrastructure and software teams, write launch scripts, troubleshoot MPI workloads, analyse performance, and contribute to data staging and storage workflows

Qualifications

• Current student in a relevant technical field.
• No professional HPC experience required.
• Solid knowledge of Linux and Python, Bash, and C/C++.
• Knowledge of MPI and parallel or distributed computing.
• Interest in GPU computing (CUDA) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Adapt existing code and workflows to the HPC environment (multi-core, multi-GPU, multi-node).
• Write and maintain launch scripts and job scripts; work with scheduler and queues.
• Run and troubleshoot MPI workloads; analyse failing or slow jobs.
• Benchmark workloads; test scalability; validate across multiple nodes.
• Analyse CPU, GPU, memory, network and I/O usage to find bottlenecks.
• Manage HPC software environments, modules and dependencies.
• Support cluster users with workloads, data staging and storage workflows.
• Participate in day-to-day cluster operations and incident analysis with infra/software teams.
• Write procedures, best practices and runbooks.
• Analyze failed or poorly performing jobs.
• Work on MPI tuning, workload decomposition, CUDA/UCX, profiling and multi-node GPU execution.
