Qualifikationen

• 7+ years of experience as a software/data architect, ideally within healthcare.
• Practical experience delivering openEHR-based CDRs or FHIR-compliant interfaces in clinical environments or any other medical modeling standard
• Deep understanding of clinical and operational processes in healthcare institutions and hospital IT systems in Switzerland preferably
• Governance expertise: building frameworks for role allocation, modeling processes, maturity assessment, and architecture compliance
• Prior experience from consulting, hospitals, or healthcare software vendors
• Comfortable running workshops, presenting to mixed clinical/technical/executive audiences, and producing deliverables under engagement timelines and budgets
• Certifications (openEHR, FHIR, HL7) are a plus

Aufgaben

• Advise hospital stakeholders on data architecture governance for openEHR-based CDRs and FHIR-based Operational Data Repositories (ODR).
• Support hospital modeling teams in conceptualizing a sustainable and scalable clinical and operational data architecture.
• Support integration of both repositories with existing hospital information systems.
• Define and foster architecture principles and best practices for data handling, security, and monitoring.
• Ensure compliance with data protection requirements (nLPD/FADP, GDPR where relevant).
• Ensure integration between clinical and operational data repositories, enabling full traceability across clinical and administrative processes.
• Define governance frameworks: roles, quality-assured modeling processes, maturity measurement, and compliance monitoring.
• Contribute to strengthening OWT's internal expertise in openEHR/FHIR and participate in strategy development.

We are on a mission to transform Swiss healthcare IT with open standards (including openEHR, FHIR/HL7). To strengthen our Digital Health team, we are looking for a passionate Healthcare Data Architect (openEHR/FHIR) to shape data architectures for leading Swiss healthcare institutions, based in our Zurich office.

Your mission

• You will advise hospital stakeholders on data architecture governance for openEHR-based Clinical Data Repositories (CDR) and FHIR-based Operational Data Repositories (ODR)
• You will support hospital modeling teams in conceptualizing a sustainable and scalable clinical and operational data architecture
• You will support integration of both repositories with existing hospital information systems
• You will define and foster architecture principles and best practices for data handling, security, and monitoring
• You will ensure compliance with data protection requirements (nLPD/FADP, GDPR where relevant)
• You will ensure integration between clinical and operational data repositories, enabling full traceability across clinical and administrative processes
• You will define governance frameworks: roles (clinical modelers, architects, IT teams, clinical SMEs), quality-assured modeling processes, maturity measurement, and compliance monitoring
• You will contribute to strengthening OWT's internal expertise in openEHR/FHIR and participate in strategy development

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience as a software/data architect, ideally within healthcare
