Job summary

The Global Fund is seeking a Specialist in Surveillance, Strategy, Investment & Evidence Division (GL D) to strengthen country-level health intelligence and data governance for epidemic preparedness. The role focuses on data sharing, interoperability, and strategic investment across HIV, TB and malaria programs, with cross-functional collaboration.

You will support country teams, develop standards and tools, and help enable timely, trusted data use for cross-border risk assessment and outbreak

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in epidemiology or public health; medical degree with applied epidemiology also acceptable.
• Experience advising governments or international organizations on disease surveillance and health data governance.
• Ability to translate complex technical issues into practical investment and grant design recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Provide grant portfolio surveillance and health intelligence guidance to Country Teams and departments under guidance of Senior Specialist.
• Prepare inputs on governance, data standards, interoperability, cybersecurity considerations, sustainability planning and performance monitoring for review by HISS team.
• Coordinate GC8 Collaborative Surveillance SI by developing workplans and supporting procurement, budgets, risks and reporting.
• Develop practical resources and reference architectures for country use in surveillance and health intelligence.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, capture documentation, and escalate strategic issues to Senior Specialist.
