Job summary

Adaptyv is building an automated lab where AI agents design and run experiments. We’re seeking a technically hands-on engineering leader who ships code while shaping the roadmap and team structure.

You’ll own the engineering direction, balance speed with quality, and grow a small, high-output team as we scale our biotech software-hardware stack. You’ll lead architecture across frontend, backend, data pipelines and lab-hardware integration, mentor engineers, and foster AI-assisted development

Qualifications

• Shipped production software for years in a startup or high-growth setting.
• Built and led engineering teams with a track record of speed and quality.
• Owned or materially shaped an engineering roadmap.
• Architectural decisions across frontend, backend, data, and infra.
• Experience with AI agents and coding tools as productivity multipliers.
• Interest in biology and biotech, excitement for running experiments in the physical world.
• High-autonomy, founder mindset with transparent context.

Responsibilities

• Own the engineering roadmap and translate strategy into priorities.
• Set technical direction across frontend, backend, data pipelines, and hardware integration.
• Ship high-impact code while guiding a fast-moving team.
• Hire, mentor, and raise the bar for a high-output engineering group.
• Institutionalize AI-assisted development practices to accelerate delivery.
